Students will spend one week in Ottawa experiencing how decisions are made nationally and sharing their voices and opinions.

Ensure that a student from your school has the opportunity to:

  • Share their ideas and acquire tools for community engagement
  • Enhance leadership and second official language skills
  • Network with other youth from across the country

Exciting opportunity for your students to experience the 2012-2013 Forum for Young Canadians program!

The "Forum experience" brings students to Ottawa for a one week intensive academic adventure that immerses them in the exciting world of national politics and public affairs.

The dates for 2012-2013 are as follows:

March 16th to 21st, 2014

March 23rd to 28th, 2014

February 23rd to 28th, 2014

The participation fee of $895 covers it all —

  • Travel to and from Ottawa;
  • Accommodation and meals within walking distance of Parliament Hill;
  • Attendance at the MP’s dinner, Senate’s breakfast and all other events;
  • Session materials and program support.

Bursaries are available to help offset the cost of attending the Forum program. Forum also provides information on how to raise funds through community donations to help participants cover the participation fee.

The experience of a lifetime!

The students selected to represent their province/territory will spend one week with up to 120 other young leaders arriving from coast to coast. Their classroom revolves around Parliament Hill and their teachers are Ministers, Members of Parliament, Senators, senior public servants, members of the national media and business leaders. A young person with leadership skills and lots of opinions is just the kind of student that belongs at Forum!
